Well, I found the fly pattern book that I was looking for. Along the way I also found a large pile of fly information that I have printed out over the years. Many of the ones that I found were step-by-step instructions, so I will not be tying most of those this year. Why should I copy someone else's instructions when there are many patterns that I like that do not have step-by-step instructions available. Thus, I am going to mostly stick to patterns that I like that are not readily available in this same format.
There will be a few favorites, however, that are available on other sites, mainly because I really like them and use them.
Anyway, look back at the 'Flies' post to see the list as it now stands and as it grows over time.
Thanks,

Flies?
Well, I was hoping that I would be able to get a list of flies I am planning on tying together by now, but, well, as usual, the Christmas season has acted to keep this from happening. I have decided on a few of the flies. I am going to tie a wasp pattern, a Crappie Candy, and a Cow Dung as a part of the year, but I am not sure which other ones I will decide on.
Part of it is that I am unable to find a pattern book that I bought a number of years ago. I don't want to just redo the flies that you can find all over the place, but it seems that this is getting more and more difficult as the web grows. I hope that some of the flies I tie do not show up all over the place, but then I DO have my favorites! :-)
Hope you visit often!

The Beginning
In the beginning, there was very little. Just some crazy idea about putting this together. I wanted to build my own site on my own server, but that has yet to occur. Maybe someday.
There are a lot of sites that have a 'new' fly each week posted. I decided that I wanted to do something like that, but more often. I thought 'Fly a Day'! Great! That would be awesome! Then I realized how much time it would take to not only tie 365 flies in 2008, but to photogragh each step and get it all posted up here. I decided that a 'Fly a Week' would work much better. Hopefully I can keep up.
Mainly, this is for me. I will be including links to where I found the recipe. Following these links will possibly/probably show you a better example of the fly, but I hope that you come back to see what I am tying.
Thanks,
Lime Trude
